I have the same problem not hnavig a tools option to remove, but I also do not have an item called SQL Server 2005 Management Tools Express item. Could you have possibly have meant SQL Server 2005 Management Studio Express. When I try to uninstall this one it tells me Microsoft Sql Server 2005 Tools is dependent on it. Did you get that as well. Thanks for this posting, I think it will get me closer to an answer.

FTP is also a good method for backup but SSH has its advantages. It is secure, even more so than FTPS. The backup device actually makes the connection, so it can be moved to any offsite location and contact the live database, which stays static via a domain name, without any reconfiguration. This last point has been very helpful as backup devices can be sent to a location pre-configured and simply start working when connected. It is also remarkably reliable.
